The new roaring 20’s has been rough so far and some of your favorite color trends are no longer “in.” After the last few years of spending more time in our homes than usual, you might have gotten sick of the way it looks. Maybe you thought about starting on a new painting project in one or all of the rooms. Putting on a new coat of paint can really bring Zen and happiness to a room or to your home. With this year almost ending and a new year coming soon, we’ll go over what’s “in” and “trendy” for a fresh new start.
Because everyone has been stuck in their homes for so long, they’re craving to get out and travel. Which brings us to our newest trend of Earthy colors. If you have a lot of plants in your home, go green! Mixing different greens can create an organic feel and will be the most popular. People are tired of looking at their bright white walls and turning them into sage green or muted marigold. A few white walls are still ok to have, however not all of them. It just gives you a headache. Adding a deep emerald into your home will balance out the brightness of white and make it more of that warm, forest feel.
Gray tones are no longer in style, they’re too dull and depressing. What most are now seeing are creamier neutrals. A mix of yellow and orange can tell the story of a summer afternoon full of happiness and positivity. Yes, yellow and orange like we had back in the 60’s and 70’s is coming back. That retro look of warm tones is going to be all the rage in the year 2022.
Pale pink is another bright, fun color that’s a hot trend for the new year. If you loved scruffy chic florals back in the day, you are in luck once again! The lighter pink tones with floral wallpaper are now “in.” Floral designs is a way of life and brings the inner interior designer in you.
You don’t always have to change the interior walls of your house to keep up to date with the latest trends. It would tend to get expensive to paint them each year. What you can do instead is add in those new colors using accent pillows and artwork. Here is a list of the colors that are really going to pop this spring.
Spring colors:
- Buttercream
- Nature Brown
- Green Quartz
- Tech Blue
- Dahlia Orange
- Military Gold
- Pink Charlotte
You can use any of these colors with accents to turn a room into the new trend without having to paint your entire home every year. Bright chairs are
back and can make a room pop, as they can transform an ordinary room into a stunning beautiful room. Another way to make a room look more homey, is to add fuzzy or knitted blankets, pillows, lovesacs with a fireplace. Look for those thick knitted blankets to throw on your couch or a chair. Even if it’s just one corner in the room, it can make it more cozy and welcoming.
Things to keep in mind when wanting to transform your home is to not rush into copying someone else’s idea, detail by detail. Try to look at the idea from a different angle and make something of your own based on their ideas. That way if you find something you like while shopping in the home design store, you can decide for yourself whether it will go with the color scheme you are looking for.
